Silane coupling agent

The core function of a coupling agent is like a "molecular bridge", which can firmly connect inorganic materials with different properties (such as glass fiber and calcium carbonate) with organic materials (such as plastic and rubber).

Enhance mechanical properties: Form chemical bonds at the interface to transfer stress, significantly improving the tensile, impact and bending strength of composite materials.
Improve processing performance: Reduce the melt viscosity of the resin, improve the dispersion of inorganic fillers in the organic matrix, and prevent particle agglomeration.
Enhance durability: Form a dense interface layer to prevent the penetration of moisture and other media, improving the water resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and electrical insulation performance of the products.

Common coupling agents and their characteristics

Silane coupling agent: The most widely used and highly versatile. It is commonly used in glass fiber reinforced plastics, coatings, adhesives, etc.

The dosage of coupling agent is very small. Usually, only 0.1% to 5% of the weight of inorganic fillers needs to be added to achieve significant effects.

Application of silane coupling agent
